9 Gough Chambers offers unassessed mini-pupillages. The duration of each mini-pupillage is two days.
We offer mini-pupillages with the aims of helping to broaden access to the profession and permitting potential future pupillage candidates to learn more about the Bar as a profession or, having settled on a career at the Bar, about working in a common law set.
Ordinarily, we invite applications for mini-pupillages around May to July, with a view to mini-pupils joining us during the following months. Owing to the present national health emergency and the closure of many courts to in-person hearings, there are few meaningful opportunities for mini-pupils to observe our work at the moment. Accordingly, and regretfully, we do not currently plan to offer traditional mini-pupillages this year. We are, however, exploring other methods by which we may be able to achieve some of the objectives of mini-pupillages. Any further information will appear on this page in due course.
