The team undertakes the full range of this work, from multi-million pound fraud to fly tipping. Members regularly undertake work in the following areas:

  • Breaches of planning regulations, fly tipping, Medicines Act breaches, trading standards, food standards and environmental offences.
  • Fraud and corruption cases, and cases concerning breaches of Company Law and Regulation, for or against the Serious Fraud Office, Financial Services Authority, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and HM Revenue and Customs.
  • Acting for and against the Health and Safety Executive and the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
  • Prosecuting proceedings in the Care Standards Tribunal.
  • Applications under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, in the criminal and civil courts.
  • Licencing applications, in relation to firearms, taxis and liquor.

Members are well versed in dealing with the public law and human rights-based challenges made to decisions taken in the above, and other, contexts.
