9 Gough Chambers Quiz Night, 21st May 2015
Over a 100 9 Gough Chambers clients, members, and staff tested their general knowledge skills at the inaugural 9 Gough Chambers Annual Quiz Night, held at the Duke & Duchess pub in Creed Street EC4 on Thursday evening. This enjoyable ‘drink & think’ fun event involved a wide range of both visual and verbal questions including ‘name the country with the largest English language newspaper in the world’ (India), ‘what was the name of boy in the Toy Story film’ (Andy), to ‘name two countries with names ending with the letter ‘T’ ‘(Egypt & Kuwait) which caused a Stewards Enquiry over the Ivory Coast.
The Chelmo’s (Thompsons Chelmsford) won, narrowly beating Section 2 (SFO) on a tie-break question, winning a bottle of champagne for each team member. Jo French (GDC) won a bottle of champagne in the business card raffle. Wooden Spoons were given out to the team that came last just to stir them up a bit.
It’s hoped that this event will become a firm fixture in the 9 Gough Chambers events diary, as many of the guests were already looking to book their tables for next year before the night had ended.
