Andrew Ritchie QC appointed as a High Court Judge

9 Gough Chambers is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Ritchie QC as a High Court Judge.
He will be known as the Honourable Mr Justice Ritchie from the 1st October 2021 and will be assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
This is a much deserved appointment for Andrew who has enjoyed a very successful 36 years of practice at the Bar, where he also served as previous Chair of the Personal Injury Bar Association.
Andrew’s contributions to the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Bar are well known and much lauded. He was frequently identified as a leader in the field of PI and named a star Silk.
This appointment is also an enormous accolade for 9 Gough Chambers where Andrew served as Head of Chambers for 6 years between 2012 and 2019.
