Louise studied Law at Newcastle University and graduated with a 2:1. Whilst at University, Louise volunteered for a legal charity called Legacare who offer free legal advice and continued support to critically ill patients.
Prior to coming to the bar, Louise worked at HSBC Bank for two years on their Global Liquidity and Cash Management Graduate Scheme where she completed placements in sales, client management, product management and financial crime compliance.
Louise was awarded an exhibition scholarship from the Honourable Society of Inner Temple to complete the BPTC (Very Competent). Louise obtained a Distinction in her BPTC LLM, which focused on advocating for litigants-in-person in Immigration proceedings. Louise also won the University of Law prize for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, having obtained the highest mark in her year.
Before commencing pupillage, Louise obtained a volunteer legal internship with the Arizona Capital Representation Project in Tucson, where she supported the lawyers representing people on death row who were appealing their sentences/convictions. When Louise returned to the UK, she worked as a paralegal for Lambeth Council on the Independent Inquiry into child Sexual Abuse.
