Claire Harden-Frost prosecutes dangerous paedophile who escaped justice in 1992 and continued to commit offences until 2017

News | Mon 22nd Jan, 2018

A jury sitting at Harrow Crown Court found AT guilty of committing at least 36 serious sexual offences against 4 children over a 30 year period. Thompson had been reported to the police by one of his victims as long ago as 1992. Although charged at the time his case did not come to trial and he went on to abuse a further 3 children between 1995 and 2017. AT maintained his innocence at trial but the jury hearing his case returned unanimous verdicts of guilty on the 14 Counts which included allegations of attempted rape.

Her Honour Judge Newberry found that he was still a dangerous offender posing a significant risk to young children and sentenced him to a total of 20 years imprisonment.

Claire Harden-Frost prosecuted the case and was instructed by The Crown Prosecution Service.
