Life Sentence for man who raped boy in care

News | Tue 30th Jan, 2018

On 26th January 2018 His Honour Judge Perrins sentenced Kennedy Tisson to a life sentence for offences of rape and indecent assault. Tisson had been found guilty in December 2017 after a trial at Wood Green Crown Court of raping a child in the 1990s. The victim, who cannot be named, was in local authority care when first raped by Tisson. The jury found that after the initial rape Tisson continued to terrorise the victim raping him on at least 6 other occasions. Tisson was previously convicted in 2006 of raping two adult female victims. In his sentencing remarks the Judge stated that it was simply not possible to envisage a time when Tisson would not present a serious and ongoing risk of serious physical and sexual harm to others. Tisson was sentenced to a discretionary life sentence and told that he would serve at least 10 years in prison before the parole board could consider his release.
