Natasha Partos presents case for the HCPC against Psychologist who was struck off

News | Mon 21st Aug, 2017

Natasha Partos presented the case against Mr Themessl-Huber, registered clinical psychologist, on behalf of the HCPC in a 5 day misconduct hearing between 7th – 11th August 2017.

The Tribunal found that the clinical psychologist had engaged in sexually motivated email exchanges and phone calls with Patient A over a period of months in 2015 whilst acting as her clinical psychologist.

The Tribunal also found that the psychologist had allowed Patient A to touch him during therapy sessions and had allowed her to sit on his lap which had been sexually motivated.

The Tribunal heard that following the patient’s discharge from therapy, which they found had been sexually motivated, the psychologist commenced a physical relationship with the patient.

The Tribunal found that Mr Themessl-Huber’s actions amounted to misconduct and on both grounds of public protection and in order to maintain public confidence in the profession were incompatible with his registration. Therefore the panel made a striking off order.

Natasha acted on behalf of the Health and Care Professionals Council instructed by Kingsley Napley.

The case was reported in local and the national press, see:
