Nicolas Hillier to retire from practice at the Bar with effect from 30th April 2021

News | Thu 1st Apr, 2021

After almost 40 years as a valued and much loved Member of Chambers, Nicolas Hillier is to retire from practice at the Bar with effect from 30th April 2021.

Nick has decided that the time has come for him to pursue other interests, many of which have been shelved for some time because of his busy practice, and while his continuing good health permits.

We know that many professional colleagues, friends and opponents alike will be sad to see him leave the Bar – none more so than his Chambers family at 9 Gough Chambers where he has been a stalwart and such an excellent servant and ambassador for so many years – but we also know that you will join us in wishing him well for the future.

Nick leaves with all our love and good wishes for a happy, healthy and adventurous retirement – and we hope that his infectious laugh will never be heard too far from Chambers and the friends he leaves behind.

We will all miss you Nick.
