Roger Hiorns represents gold medalist Paralympian Karen Darke in serious injury claim

News | Thu 22nd Sep, 2016

Roger Hiorns‘ client Karen Darke has won gold at the Rio Paralympics. Having won a silver medal in the H1-3 time trials at London 2012 she was involved in an accident whilst training and it was feared she would not make a good enough recovery to be competitive at Rio. Against the odds the tremendously courageous Karen, a paraplegic hand cyclist, achieved her dream of a gold medal.

In the course of Karen’s training between London 2012 and Rio 2016 she was riding her hand cycle in Cumbria when she was struck from behind by a motorist, sustaining a serious injury to her right shoulder. Roger represented her in her claim against the motorist.
