Second edition of ‘Writing Medico-Legal Reports in Civil Claims – an essential guide’ published

News | Fri 16th Oct, 2015

Giles Eyre, with his co-author forensic communication author Lynden Alexander, has just published the second edition of their manual for experts ‘Writing Medico-Legal Reports in Civil Claims – an essential guide’ (www.prosols.uk.com).

Described by Dr Jan Wise (Chair of the BMA Medico-Legal Committee 2004-2015) as ‘a must-have-manual for the new expert – a go-to-guide for the mature expert’ and by James Badenoch QC as ‘an invaluable guide to legal understanding and to the enhancement of the expert’s practical skills’, the book, while primarily aimed at those writing reports, is invaluable to those instructing experts.

The second edition is updated to cover changes in the CPR, the Guidance for the instruction of experts in civil claims 2014 and the common law (up to and including the cases of Montgomery and Harman) and has been extended to cover additional topics (including additional guidance for quantum experts, addressing mental capacity and further guidance on joint discussions).
