Support Jeremy Ford as he cycles nearly 1000 miles for the Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation

News | Fri 4th Sep, 2015

Jeremy Ford is about to embark on gruelling nine day challenge to raise money for the Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation.

Jeremy is taking part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain 2015 race – a significant challenge featuring a 960+ mile ride over nine days from the 5th – 13th September 2015 – covering an average of 108 miles per day with total elevation of over 15,000 metres (nearly twice the height of Mount Everest).

The Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation was launched in March 2015 to support projects for vulnerable and disabled individuals and their families/carers across England and Wales.

Supporting quality of life

Speaking about the challenge, Jeremy, said: “I am attacking the Deloitte Ride Across Britain specifically for the Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation as it so closely linked with my work in helping inured clients and their families. I also wanted to do the bike ride because it seemed like a good challenge to help fight the mid-life bulge! I also have some family rivalry, my brother in-law recently cycled from Sydney to Perth so I felt I also had to do something!

“I’m getting quite nervous now. I know I can do one day but I’m conscious that I have to keep going day-after-day without a break.  No rest days like the Tour. Overall I’m really looking forward to it and would be so pleased to see the charity and my efforts receive some support, no matter how big or a small a donation.”

Training

So far, Jeremy has committed to a significant amount of training in the gym, twice a week to build up his leg muscles over the past nine months. He has also taken part in long rides locally, recently completed the 103 mile Malvern for Mad Hatter Sportive.
