Tara Vindis completes long running family care case

News | Wed 25th Nov, 2015

Tara’s longest running family case (24 months) ended this week with two of the four children being returned to their mother’s care and the youngest two being placed with a maternal aunt under Special Guardianship Orders. Tara was instructed by the local authority.

A fact finding had taken placed in 2014 in which both parents were found to be in the pool of perpetrators for the non-accidental injuries caused to their 5 month old baby.  Had the case concluded within the statutory 26 week period the likely outcome for the three youngest children would have been adoption.

Instead and given time for reflection and therapeutic work to be commenced, the mother and extended family members were able to be reassessed positively by the local authority.
