On Friday 26th May and Saturday 27th May, Tom Goodhead addressed lawyers from around the world gathered in Prague from the Global Justice Network.
Tom was a member of a panel discussing the current status of the VW Emissions Litigation across Europe and on Saturday, presented on the potential effects of Brexit on product liability law and group action procedures.
In his presentation, Tom highlighted the European origins of the UK’s product liability laws, the difficulty the courts of England and Wales have had in grappling with European law concepts in respect of product liability and the prospect of future divergence. He also discussed England and Wales’s new regime for follow-on damages claims in respect of breaches of competition law.
Tom is the only Barrister in England and Wales to be a member of the invite-only Global Justice Network. Other members include the leading plaintiffs’ lawyers in the United States, Canada, Holland, Spain, Italy, France and Greece.
