Tom Little successfully prosecuted Humphrey Burke who was today made the subject of a Hospital Order and a Restriction Order under the Mental Health legislation by Mr Justice Singh. Burke was ruled unfit to plead and following a trial of the facts the jury found that he had kicked Lorraine Barwell (a SERCO Guard) in the head whilst he was being restrained in the cell corridor at Blackfriars Crown Court on 29th June 2015. The kick to the head killed the victim. Burke will remain in Broadmoor until he is fit to stand trial for her murder.
